Lender Settings
The Lender Settings determine the relationship a lender has with a loan, as well as the investment made in the loan. Moneylender can calculate the Discount Earned - the taxable part of the principal recovered when a loan is purchased for less than the principal balance.
Lender – click Select to open the Manage Lenders window where you can choose, add, or edit the lender to associate with this loan.
Edit (pencil) button – click to open the selected lender's record if you need to update their information; disabled until a lender is selected.
Purchase Price – enter the amount this lender paid for the loan so Moneylender can determine the discount rate used for the Discount Earned calculation. If the lender originated the loan rather than buying it, the purchase price is the amount lent.
Percent Ownership – enter the percentage of the loan this lender owns.
Lender on loan for the entire length of the loan – select this if the lender holds the loan from funding until it is closed.
Lender on loan for only part of the time – select this if the lender bought into the loan after it was funded or sold it before it closed, then set the dates below.
Beginning – the date the lender's ownership of the loan takes effect.
Ending – the last date the lender holds an interest in the loan.
