Report Batches

A report batch is a saved series of reports that Moneylender generates in one click. Set up the reports you run at the end of every month—or every week, or every year—once, and from then on the whole set is a single item on the Reports menu. On Moneylender desktop the finished reports are saved as files into a dated folder that opens automatically; in Moneylender Online they arrive as a single zip file download.

Creating a Batch

Open Reports > Report Batches > Manage Batches. Click the New (plus) button above the Batches list, give the batch a name, and choose how its reports should be saved:

The format applies to every report in the batch. If you want the same reports in both formats, create two batches—the Add to Batch button on the report viewer makes that quick.

Adding Reports to a Batch

With the batch selected, use the New (plus) button above the Reports in Batch list. Pick the report and set the same options the report viewer would ask for—only the choices that report actually offers will appear:

Use the up and down arrows to arrange the reports. The files are numbered in this order when the batch runs, so the folder or zip lists them the way you arranged them.

Adding from the Report Viewer

The fastest way to build a batch is to set a report up on screen first. Open any report from the Reports menu, adjust the dates, lender, status, or account until it shows what you want, then click the +Batch button on the report viewer's toolbar. Pick an existing batch or type a name to create a new one, and the report is added with exactly the settings the viewer was showing. For a single-loan report, the loan the viewer was opened on is captured with it.

Running a Batch

Click the batch's name on Reports > Report Batches, or select it in Manage Batches and click Run Batch. Moneylender generates the reports one at a time, showing its progress as it goes.

On Moneylender desktop the files are saved to a report batches folder inside your default folder (File > Moneylender Settings), in a subfolder named with today's date and the batch name—for example report batches\2026-07-24 Month End\01 Financial Summary.csv. The folder opens in Explorer when the batch finishes. Running the same batch again on the same day rewrites that day's folder; running it another day makes a new one, so your past runs stay put.

In Moneylender Online the browser downloads a single zip file named with the date and batch name, containing the same numbered files.
