Report column widths

When sizing “width” columns in a report, what are the values based on? If I want to customize them.

When printing it's points – 96 per inch. There’s a ¼” (24 point) margin on the left edge of the report table. If printed to an 8.5” wide sheet, having combined column widths that total up to 768 should essentially fill the page and have the report be centered with ¼” on both sides.

On the preview screen, the width is pixels, and the actual size can vary based on your display settings. I have my screens at 200%, so Windows doubles the actual pixel size, while keeping the fonts sharp.
