Re: Creating two 1098s for a single loan...

Not a problem. :D I get asked for this all the time, it’s a very common question and often there’s a misconception about what information the 1098 returns convey. Everyone’s afraid if they send a 1098 from one recipient, that filer also has to show the money somewhere on their income. That’s definit...

Lender:

Thanks.

I will take a look at this. Sorry to bother you with something I could have looked up!

Re: Creating two 1098s for a single loan...

Josh: I get this question all the time. You asked “Is there a way to split the 1098s so that each lender has the correct amount reported?” Yes, but you probably don’t want to file two 1098 forms. The IRS doesn’t want multiple 1098s for a single mortgage. The recipient fields are just who received th...

Creating two 1098s for a single loan...

Lender: I am doing my 1098s. I have one loan where the lender changed (both run from Moneylender). The program appears to generate only one 1098 for the borrower. The 1098 lists the first lender as the lender and includes interest paid to the second lender. Is there a way to split the 1098s so that ...

Re: Sorting a "Payment Summary" report by date

Just a couple short weeks later and I finally released an update to Moneylender. Version 229 includes, among a few other things, the fix for sorting on Payment Summary reports.

Re: Sorting a "Payment Summary" report by date

I tagged this post on my to-do list, and I'll post a follow up comment when the update goes live. 8-) Probably a couple weeks since I just did two updates in the last week or two.

Re: Sorting a "Payment Summary" report by date

Hey Mark, Indeed! There was no sorting mechanic in the Payment Summary report engine. I added it so it'll sort properly with the next update (it'll be version 3.0.229). Also, Creation Date is a timestamp of when you first create the payment in Moneylender, not the date you set for the payment - that...

Re: Error Message: Invalid Class

Fix that seems to work:

In elevated command prompt:

net stop winmgmt /y

Winmgmt /resetrepository

Those two commands should rebuild the repository that's causing the Invalid Class message.

Re: Funds committed report

There's a Loan:AvailableCredit column you can use for the amount of funds committed but not currently used for a loan. Since this is a Loan value and not a SummaryOfFinancesRecord value, it will always reflect the current state of the loan and ignore the report's date ranges. Principal Disbursed sho...

Re: email multiple reports to borrower

Happily, someone with 10,000s of loans, often with dozens to the same borrower wanted this exact thing and paid to have a mechanic added to Moneylender to allow the creation of consolidated statement reports. If you want to only send two statements to one borrower, then just send two emails. The mec...
